Coach Muck has been teaching/coaching for the past twenty one years. He attended and graduated from the University of Austin in 2001. He has been the head wrestling coach at Anderson HS, Georgetown HS, and he is currently in his 8th year at Vandegrift High School. Over his 18 years as head wrestling coach; he has had 13 district team titles, 6 regional team titles, 97 state qualifiers, 22 state placers, 6 state runner-up and 5 state champions. Coach Muck has been named the regional coach of the year 7 times, state coach of the year in 2021, served on the UIL advisory committee and is currently the president of the High School Wrestling Coaches Association. Coach Muck is married to wife Christine; and has 3 boys; Aiden (16), Easton (12), and Asher (8).

 


 

Coach Banda is a graduate of Lanier High School and was a standout lineman and linebacker for the Vikings, receiving all district honors his junior and senior year. In wrestling he was a district champion and a regional qualifier. Coach Banda graduated from the University of Texas Austin with a degree in sports management. He spent two years at Lanier High School as a defensive coach for football. He was also the head wrestling coach at Lanier and had three wrestlers qualify for the state tournament. Coach Banda has been at Vandegrift for the past five years. He teaches World Geography and is a cornerback coach for football in addition to being the assistant wrestling coach at Vandegrift. He is married to wife Natali and has a 1 year old daughter (Isabel).
